Potassium is one of several essential elements for maintaining vigorous growth in aquarium plants. Potassium decreases in fast growing systems or if fresh water is low in minerals. In this case, potassium can become limiting to growth.
Differences
The most readily available sources of potassium are potassium nitrate and potassium phosphate. Both of these sources, along with potassium, also add either nitrogen or phosphorus, making it virtually impossible to determine the NPK ratio. Flourish Potassium ™ is composed of potassium sulfate, allowing the user to regulate potassium levels without affecting nitrogen or phosphorus levels.
Instructions for use
Use 1 full cap (5 ml) for every 125 L (30 gallons *) of water. This dose increases potassium levels by 2 mg / L. Repeat 2-3 times a week or as needed (if there are signs of potassium deficiency on old leaves, which include: chlorosis (yellowing), necrosis (death / browning) and weak stems and roots.
Composition of the preparation
Soluble potassium compound (K2O) 05.8%
Derived from: potassium sulfate
Elemental potassium is present at a concentration of 50,000 μg / g (eg 5%). Outdated fertilizer laws require us to register potassium in terms of the equivalent of a substance not present (K2O) instead of using the more expedient scientific method of simple elementary equivalence.
